Middle School golf team takes 6th at State Tournament

Saturday, the Marshall County middle school golf team competed in the Middle School State Championship at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Frankfort and finished sixth.

They advanced to state after taking first in the Regional Tournament held at Calvert City Country Club. The team shot 167 to win over McCracken County by 11 strokes.

The low score at state came from Brooklyn Cunningham who medaled with a third place finish and score of 77. Also placing in the top 10 was Kelli Roberts who tied for eighth with 88 and Charlee Murphy with a 10th place finish and score of 90.

On the boy’s side, Gage Norman, Maddox Konrad and Cruz Cocke finished in the top 40 out of 90 competitors. Norman shot 84, Konrad 87 and Cocke shot 89.
