Brenda Jean Sullivan Dowell, age 82, formerly of West Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 5:45 A.M. Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Stonecreek Health and Rehabilitation.
Brenda was born in Golconda, Illinois on Monday, October 7, 1940 to Walker and Fern Sullivan. She graduated valedictorian of her class at Brookport High School, in Massac County, Illinois. She was employed with Anesthesiology of Paducah, and after retirement worked at Kohl’s. Brenda had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She was known for her kind, sweet and giving nature. Everyone she met was welcomed as a loved one.
Mrs. Dowell is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Lee Dowell; her son, Brian Dowell (Tricia) of Kevil, Kentucky; her brother, John Wesley Crabb; her grandchildren, Bobby Dowell (Kathleen) and Madison Dowell (Marcus Hinman); her great grandchild, Willow Lee Hinman; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Dowell of Paducah.
Mrs. Dowell was preceded in death by her son, Robert Dowell, Jr; her parents, Walker Sullivan and Fern (Billington) Crabb.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Mickey Brown officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the funeral home.
