Joining WCBL for Coffee Call recently from the Marshall County School System were Lori Barrett and McKenzie Suiter. Barrett is the public information officer and assistant to the superintendent, while Suiter is the director of school nutrition. Suiter says good healthy foods for the students are always a priority and the rules often change, with lower sodium content in foods a main concern presently. And she said they served 68,000 meals to student in the summer meals program. Barrett is in her second year in the newly created public information officer position. She says parents and students can stay informed with what’s going on in the Marshall County School system on their Facebook page as well as the school’s website at www.marshall.kyschools.us.
