Illinois Man Arrested After Fleeing From Deputy

On July 8th, 2023 at 2:00 am, a deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The traffic stop was conducted on Fisher Road, near the Barkley Regional Airport.

Upon making contact with the occupants, the male passenger of the vehicle provided the deputy with a false name. When confronted with this, the male passenger fled on foot. He was later identified as Marshall Cook (36) of Cairo, Illinois.

The deputy was able to catch Cook and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, Cook resisted arrest and attempted to disarm the deputy. As a result of Cook’s actions, the deputy sustained a broken finger.

Cook was found to have an active warrant for a Parole Violation. The investigation also revealed Cook had been in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, items of drug paraphernalia and items consistent with narcotics sales.

Cook was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail on the following charges:

Giving Officer False Identifying Information

Fleeing / Evading Police 1st Degree

Resisting Arrest

Assault 3rd Degree on Police Officer

Trafficking in Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Possession of Marijuana

Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance

The operator of the vehicle, Annamarie Adams (27) of Paducah was also arrested and lodged on numerous charges.
