Near-normal traffic flow along KY 305 in place until July 10
PADUCAH, Ky. (June 29, 2023) — A work zone along KY 305/Cairo Road at the Interstate 24 Paducah Exit 3 interchange continues as a traffic shift along KY 305 is expected to resume near-normal flow on Friday, June 30, 2023.
Traffic along the main line of KY 305/Cairo Road through the I-24 Exit 3 Interchange is expected to be shifted to the normal alignment for the July 4th Holiday starting around Noon on Friday. Some finish work will continue through the next week as the contractor prepares for work on the westbound entry and exit ramps starting around July 10.
Due to excavations, left turns will continue to be prohibited at the I-24 Exit 3 westbound ramp ends at KY 305/Cairo Road. That requires vehicles seeking to make a left turn at the westbound entry or exit ramps to travel through the work zone, find a safe place to turn around, then return in the opposite direction to reach their destination or make the desired turn.
NO U-TURN signs have been posted at each end of the work zone with an enhanced police presence.
Motorists traveling along KY 305/Cairo Road through the interchange should continue to use appropriate caution.
Once a few remaining sections of concrete are completed along KY 305/Cairo Road next week, the contactor plans to start on the westbound ramps around July 10.
The traffic control in this work zone is set up to assure the safety of workers, the safety of the driving public, and maintain access to businesses around the I-24 Paducah Exit 3 Interchange.
The target completion date is extended to July 31, 2023.
