Ellene Scharmahorn, 90, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 at Calvert City Convalescent Center.
Ellene was born to the late Norman and Lona Lyles Pace on March 21st, 1933 in Calvert City, Kentucky. She and her husband Joe were in the food service industry for twenty five plus years as business owners. She and Joe were part owners of the Benton Drive In and later owners of another popular eatery in Benton, The Bus Station. Ellene was a lifelong member of Union Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by one son, Joe Scharmahorn III (Melanie) Gilbertsville, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Kaleb Scharmahorn (Meagan) and Kinsey Diegan (Allan); three great grandchildren, Graelynn Scharmahorn, Lilly Scharmahorn, and Johander Scharmahorn; one brother, Grayson Pace (Ellie) and several nieces and nephews.
Ellene was preceded in death by he husband Joe Scharmahorn, Jr.; one sister, Rosie Walker; three brothers, Fred Pace, Mirvan Pace, Gilman Pace and parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
Graveside service will be Thursday, June 15th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Bro. Josh Herndon officiating.
