
Elbert Dennis Driver, 73, of Reidland passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at his home after a brief illness.
Dennis was born in Livingston County, Kentucky on July 17, 1949 and graduated from Reidland High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 until 1974 and was stationed at Fort Rucker Alabama and in South Korea. He went on to graduate from Murray State University in 1977 where he majored in accounting.
Licensed as a CPA in 1979, Dennis worked at Reed & Company, Certified Public Accountants, and then as President of the First National Bank of Clinton before opening his own practice in Paducah in 1987. Dennis performed his work with incredible dedication and pride. He had great respect and appreciation for his clients, many of whom he had served for decades. He enjoyed baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees, and auto racing.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Ann Driver; one daughter, Allison Bradshaw of Nashville, Tennessee; one son, Michael Driver (Cassandra) of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Wren Bradshaw, Marek Driver and Holden Driver; two sisters, Faye (Johnny) Copeland of Symsonia and Annette (Dale) Brewer of Ballard County; one sister-in-law, Celia Jo Wall (Roger Haney) of Murray and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ava Nell Edmonds Fischer and his brother, Kenny Driver.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
