He was an employee of Pilgrims Pride in Mayfield, KY.
Mr. Burgess is survived by his wife of 27 years, Charity Burgess; one daughter, Keri (Michael) Hamilton of Mayfield, KY; his father, Jerry Burgess of Mayfield, KY; one brother, Keith (Sabrina) Burgess of Mayfield, KY; one sister, Christa (Barry) Lee; and two nieces, Brittany Hoback and Brianna Burgess.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Burgess.
Funeral services for Mr. James “Jamie” Burgess will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Jerry Hamilton will officiate. Interment will follow at Hollan Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hamilton, Marc Waggoner, Keith Burgess, Darrell Abell, Jarrod Herndon and Ricky Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Burgess and Howard Bouland.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the funeral home.
