Futrell and Thompson finish sixth at KHSAA Bass Fishing State Championship

Marshall County anglers Preston Futrell and Jack Thompson finished sixth at the KHSAA Bass Fishing State Championship held Friday and Saturday out of Kentucky Dam Marina. Futrell and Thompson finished with a 2-day total of 23 pounds 0 ounces.

After the first day of the tournament, they sat in third place with five fish weighing in at 13 pounds 12 ounces. They weighed four fish on day two at 9-04.

Dade Vincent and Brock Vincent from Muhlenberg County won the state championship with a 2-day total of 34-11. Big Bass went to Clayton Cruze of Ohio County with a catch weighing in at 5-10.

A total of 87 teams competed in the state championship.
