LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

⦁ On Monday, May 1st, 2023, around 1:20pm, Deputy David Carroll served a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant on Jeremy P. Samstad (40) of Columbia, MO. Samstad was charged with Fleeing/Evading Police-1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree, Receiving Stolen Property-$10,000 or more. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center and awaits extradition back to Missouri.

⦁ On Monday, May 1st, 2023, around 2pm, Deputy David Carroll arrested Bryan M. Boswell (36) of Owensboro. Boswell attempted to enter the Judicial Building and when told by a Court Security Officer he had a warrant for his arrest, he attempted to flee and was detained by Sheriff Brent White. Deputy Carroll charged Boswell on two Lyon Circuit Court bench warrants for Contempt of Court. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

⦁ On Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023, around 9:45pm, Deputy Aaron O’Leary was dispatched to a suspicious person complaint on KY 1055 near KY 93 South. He located two individuals, a man and woman. The male party was clear of any warrants; however, the female gave the deputy a false name after being warned not to. She was later identified as Sarah L. Susan (39) of Grand Rivers. Susan was arrested after it was discovered she was a fugitive from Livingston County and Marshall County. She was charged with Giving Peace Officer False Identifying Information, along with the two bench warrants for Failure to Appear. Susan was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

 

⦁ On Thursday, May 4th, 2023, around 3:27pm, Chief Deputy Sam Adams investigated a two-vehicle collision on KY 293 near the KY 818 intersection. His investigation revealed a 2006 Chrysler, driven by Cody E. Geurin (37) of Eddyville collided with a 2010 Ford, driven by Megan N. Hall (32) of Eddyville. Geurin was charged with Operating on a Suspended/Revoked Operator’s License. He was given a court date to appear in Lyon District Court. No injuries were reported in this collision.

⦁ On Thursday, May 4th, 2023, just before 6pm, Deputy Danny Collings and Trooper Nick Engler responded to a disturbance complaint in Kuttawa on Days Inn Drive. Upon arrival, they determined Kenyon S. Ingram (36) of Union City, TN was a fugitive from Graves County. He was charged by KSP with a complaint warrant for Speeding, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle, Operating on Suspended/Revoked Operator’s License, and No Registration. A female, identified as Ginger M. Jones (45) of Hornbreak, TN was arrested and charged with being a Fugitive from Justice. Jones was wanted for felony offenses in Missouri. Both offenders were lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

⦁ On Friday, May 5th, 2023, around 4:20pm, Deputy David Carroll and Deputy Danny Collings responded to trespassing complaint on Ladd Road. Upon arrival, they located a female and male on the property. The female was detained, and the male subject fled on foot. The female was identified as Tandie L. Murray (44) of Big Rock, TN. She was charged with Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree. The male was identified as Derek Smith of Cadiz. Warrants for his arrest will be sought through the District Court.

⦁ On Sunday, May 7th, 2023, around 5am, Deputy David Carroll was dispatched to a single vehicle collision on US 62 at Days Inn Drive in Kuttawa. His investigation revealed that James M. Stuart (66) of Phoenix, AZ was operating a 2022 Volvo semi tractor and trailer when he was attempting to make a right turn onto US 62 East from the Huck’s Travel Center and ended up high centered on a culvert. There were no injuries reported in the incident.

⦁ On Sunday, May 7th, 2023, around 11:15am, Deputy David Carroll conducted a traffic stop on a 2015 Chrysler in Eddyville. The roadside investigation revealed the operator, identified as Stephen A. Hunter (37) of Fredonia, was arrested for Operating on a Suspended/Revoked Operator’s License. Additionally, he was charged with having expired registration. Hunter was arrested due to him failing to show up for unrelated court appearances previously.

⦁ On Monday, May 8th, 2023, at 6:15am, Sheriff Brent White was dispatched to a commercial vehicle collision on US 62 at Days Inn Drive. The investigation revealed a 2023 Freightliner, driven by Raul Valentin Suarez (32) of Illinois, was attempting to turn onto US 62 East from Huck’s Travel Center when his semi-trailer dislodged from his tractor, blocking US 62 East. Stinnett’s Towing was dispatched to the scene and was able to reconnect the trailer to the tractor. No injuries were reported. Sheriff White was assisted by the KYTC Dept. of Highways and Eddyville Police Department.

⦁ On Monday, May 8th, 2023, around 8:49am, Deputy David Carroll served a Hardin Circuit Court indictment warrant on Julie A. Kaput (51) of Owensboro. She was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance-1st Degree, 2nd Offense, Acquiring Property from Income from Trafficking in Controlled Substance, and Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree. She awaits extradition to Hardin County.
