Mary Yates, 90, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at her residence.
Mary was born at home in Pike County, Kentucky on January 27, 1933 to the late John Lee Farley and Fern Smith Farley. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, working puzzles and tending to her rose bushes. Mary was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two son, Rick Yates of Benton, KY and Randy Yates, wife, Lisa of Shelby Township, MI; three daughters, Linda Yates of Warren, MI, Loretta Freytag, husband, David of Warren, MI and Norma Yates, husband, Jeff of Macomb Township, MI; four brother, Jack Farley (Betty) of Pike County, KY, Burel Farley of MI, Lester Farley of Marine City, MI, Ray Farley (Trudy) of Algonac, MI; one sister, Phyllis Killala of Gilbertsville; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Scott, Jennifer, Jessica, Andrea, Vanessa, Christine, Sarah and Jonathon; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Otis Yates; four brothers, Cletius Farley, Cecil Farley, Bobby Farley and Pat Farley; one sister, Maxine Doan; and her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Daryl Thorn and Rev. Keith Long officiating. Interment will follow at Provine Cemetery in Benton.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home.
