HAPPY GRAND OPENING DAY!!!!!!
Today has been crazy busy (as expected) and we are SO thankful!!!!
We will continue to have our daily specials throughout the week. Today we are keeping it simple since it’s so hectic!
THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT AND ALL YOUR SUPPORT ❤️❤️❤️

It has been nearly two months since the storm blew the roof off at Hutchens and it has been a long, but rewarding journey. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into remodeling this historic Benton landmark. On March 3, when we were at our lowest point, this inspirational message was written on our board. There was no doubt that we were going to rebuild and continue the Hutchens legacy, no matter the circumstances. After a lot of hard work by many, and by the grace of the good Lord above, those better days are here and we cannot wait to serve y’all again! Y’all come see us Monday! We open at 6am!

Updates through the process

We want to say THANK YOU to all our friends and customers who have checked in on us over the last few days! We’ve had customers helping mop floors, hauling off debris, etc. Y’all are amazing! It is your continued love and support that keeps us going! A special thanks to Greg and Pam Travis who have checked in on us daily, offering help where needed. A special thank you to Mr. David Harris at Marshall County CO-OP for helping us move our new stove and oven in today. We could not have done it without him. Our awesome staff are working hard day and night to get the place back up and running so Y’all stay tuned because that hickory smoke will be rollin’ before you know it!

UPDATE: Our crew has worked very hard cleaning out the restaurant in preparation for renovations. I cannot say enough great things about our workers. They are the best! The building is 80 years old, and we had significant damage to the restaurant due to the rainwater. But in every difficult situation, there is opportunity for a new beginning. Final work on the roof will be completed in the next few days. The disaster and cleaning restoration service will begin the process of removing the old ceiling tiles, insulation, and floor tiles in the coming days. Things aren’t going as quick as we had hoped, but we are moving in the right direction! We cannot wait to have the dining room full and see you all again! Y’all are our family! God bless you all and thank you for all the support you have shown us! Better days are coming, and the smoke will be rolling out of them barbecue pits again very soon!

Update: there are a few snags in our renovation so we have to get them worked out before we can set a reopening date. It’s all in God’s time! Our employees, contractors and friends have worked very hard and we are excited of the work completed thus far. Hopefully everything else will flow smoothly. We can’t wait to have the dining room full and see you all again! We will keep you all updated!
