Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

On Friday April 21, 2023, at about 9:30 pm a deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff Department conducted a traffic stop in the West Paducah area.  The Driver of the vehicle was 54-year-old Charles Marvin Day of West Paducah.  A Passenger in the vehicle was 47-year-old Joseph R. Powell of Paducah, KY. During the investigation, it was determined that both Powell and Day were in possession of illegal narcotics.  Both Powell and Day were arrested and lodged in the McCracken Regional Jail.

Charles Marvin Day:

1. No Registration Receipt

2. No Registration Plates

3. Rear License Not Illuminated

4. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st Offence Methamphetamine

5. Drug Paraphernalia

6. Operating a Motor Vehicle Under Influence 1st.

7. Failure to Produce Insurance Card

Joseph R. Powell:

1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st offence Methamphetamine

2. Drug Paraphernalia

3. Possession of Marijuana
