UPDATE: The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for the assistance in this investigation.  Detectives have identified the persons involved in this investigation.  An updated press release will be sent at a later time.

On April 4, 2023, Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Five Star Convenience Store located on John Puryear to the complaint of a motorist that backed into a gas pump and then drove away.  Upon examining the surveillance video footage, a white passenger car that appears to be a new model Chevrolet Malibu pulled up to the pump and got fuel.  The female driver appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance.  The female pulled the car into a parking spot near the business.  Three passengers in the vehicle exited the vehicle and entered the store.

Upon the passengers returning to the vehicle, the driver then backed into a gas pump and drove off.  The damage to the pump is estimated at approximately $3,000.  The driver is described as a white female with long dark hair wearing a dark gray shirt and light gray pants.  The other two females and the male were merely passengers in the vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in identifying the driver of the vehicle in this investigation, or any of the passengers.  The Chevrolet Malibu should have damage to the rear passenger’s side of the vehicle.

If anyone has information to the identities of the driver, passengers, or vehicle, please contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department at 270-444-4719, mccrackencountysheriff.com, or your local law enforcement agency.  Information also may be provided anonymously through West Kentucky Crime Stoppers by texting WKY and your tip to 847411 (tip411) or by downloading the app “WKY Crime Stoppers” from the Apple Store or Google Play.  You may also contact WKY Crime Stoppers at 270-444-TELL
