Ina Mae Dowdy Garrett, age 95, of Cunningham, Kentucky passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Countryside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Mrs. Garrett was born in Carlisle County on July 3, 1927 to the late Tolbert and Cordie Dowdy. She was a homemaker and member of Antioch Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her outspoken personality and her love for babysitting, reading and the love that she showed her family.
Ina Mae is survived by two daughters, Sue Sutton of Thaxton, Mississippi and Donna Laird (Russ) of Bardwell; three sons, David Garrett (Cindy) of Cunningham, Don Garrett of Cunningham and Kevin Garrett (Cindy Thompson-Garrett) of Cunningham; one sister, Mary Jo Sumner of Wingate, North Carolina; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Garrett; two daughters, Barbara Jean Goldsmith and Linda Lemons; three sisters, Dorothy Newton, Nellie Dowdy and Myrline Dodson; and two brothers, Paul Dowdy and Clendon Dowdy; son-in-law, Ronnie Sutton; daughter-in-law, Amy Adams; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Bro. Jim Boaz officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
