CORBIN, KY (April 17, 2023) – Whitley County Grand Jury returned an indictment as a result of an extensive investigation relating to the death of a (3) year old toddler in Whitley County. This investigation began on February 19, 2023.

Post 11 Lead Detective Logan Gay recently presented this case to the Whitley County Grand Jury, who returned indictments on the infant’s mother, Alexander M. Datson/Ward, 20 of Corbin, and her boyfriend, Jordan B. Taylor, 22 also of Corbin. Both individuals have been indicted on the charges below.

Datson/Ward was charged with.

1. MURDER (Complicity)
2. STRANGULATION 1^st (Complicity)

Taylor was charged with.

1. MURDER
2. SODOMY 1^st Degree Victim Under 12yoa
3. SRANGULATION

Both individuals have been taken into custody. Detective Gay is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Post 11 personnel Whitley County Sheriff’s and the Corbin Police Department.
