Mrs. Mary Drucilla (Helms) Owens, 82 of Murray, KY passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Villas of Holly Brook, Mt. Carmel, IL.
Born May 31, 1940, in Paris, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Kenton and Daisy (Workman) Helms. Dru was retired from the Murray State University Bookstore and attended Grace Baptist Church in Murray.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Owens of Mt. Carmel, IL; Jefferson M. “Jeff” Owens, wife Gina of Murray, KY; grandchildren, Edward Tyler Owens of Mt. Carmel, IL, Lauren Carney, husband Brandon of New Point, NC, and Jefferson Lane Owens of Murray, KY; great-granddaughter, Willow Rose Carney; sister, Marcilla Helms Wimberley of Paris, TN; and brother, Keaton Paul Helms, wife Emily of Hendersonville, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Edward Earl Owens and sister, Emmie Louise Helms.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery with Bro. Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow the service.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday, April 13, 2023, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.
