UPDATE: At approximately 10 p.m yesterday two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) helicopters crashed in Trigg County, Kentucky. The crewmembers were flying two HH60 Blackhawk helicopters during a routine training mission when the incident occurred. The status of the crew members are unknown at this time. The command is currently focused on caring for the servicemembers and their families. More information will be released as it becomes available. The incident is under investigation.
CADIZ, Ky. (March 30, 2023) – Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 1 is currently on scene of a helicopter crash, alongside military investigators and several other agencies.
KSP Post 1 was notified just before 10:00pm CT on March 29, 2023 of a possible aircraft crash in Trigg County. Troopers responded to the scene and confirmed the wreckage of two military helicopters. KSP is working with officials with the United States Army to assess the scene. The status of the personnel aboard the aircraft cannot be confirmed at this time.
