Mr. Michael L. “Mike” Pierce, age 73 of Louisville, formerly of Murray, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Norton Hospital, Louisville, KY.
Born August 5, 1949, in Murray, KY, he was the son of the late Frelon and Frances (Rose) Pierce. Mike was retired from General Tire and Rubber / Continental General plant in Mayfield, KY. He dutifully served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Married on July 3, 1971, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lou Jean (Henson) Pierce of Louisville; two sons, Matthew Lynn “Matt” Pierce, wife Bui Barinda of Louisville, KY and Robert Michael Pierce, wife Stephanie of Nort Port, FL; sisters, Susan Belcher of Cadiz, KY and Sharry Carlisle of Murray, KY; and grandchildren: Waylon, Eli, Thea, and Haley Pierce.
Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Doris “Dot” Stallons and brother, Mark Pierce.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home in Murray, KY with Rev. Ricky Cunningham officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow the service in the Kirksey Baptist Church Cemetery, Kirksey, KY.
Friends may visit with the family after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY and on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home.
