Teresa Ann Cofer, 67, of Calvert City, Kentucky was called home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2023.
Teresa was born on December 13, 1955 in Birmingham, Alabama to Carolyn Dutton Barton and the late William Chester Barton. She was a person of sincere faith, a cosmetologist, instructor, a barber, Kentucky state barber inspector, gardener, animal lover, and for a period of time, a school bus driver.
Her daughter, Jody Randall, was the “pride and joy” of her life. Teresa was a “band Mom”, “Racer Mom”, “Red Raider Mom”, and in the last several years of her life – “the mother of a Commodore”. She always wanted to be there for her daughter and worked tirelessly to make sure that her daughter was successful in everything that she did. She loved to laugh, and would not shy away from a good cry. She loved the ocean, growing her flowers, and being outdoors in the sunshine. More than anything else, she enjoyed all of the time and memories shared with her daughter, Jody; fiance, Thomas Hill; and her beloved Boston terrier “Oreo”.
She is survived by her fiance, Thomas Hill of Calvert City, Kentucky; her daughter, Jody Randall (Michele) of Lubbock, TX; her mother, Carolyn Dutton Barton of Birmingham, Alabama; her three brothers; Steve Barton (Dan), Mike Barton, and Richard Barton all of Alabama; and her beloved dog, “Oreo”.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Chester Barton; and her loving terrier of 14 years, Sasha.
Arrangements for Teresa are being handled by Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
There are no services scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in western Kentucky in May when the sun is shining and the flowers are in bloom.
