Doris June Glisson, age 93, of South Elgin, Illinois, passed on March 7, 2023 at Presence Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Elgin, Illinois.
Mrs. Glisson was born in Paducah, Kentucky on August 28, 1929 to the late Thomas Jewell Davis and Flora Lee Goad Davis.
She was a member of Gospel Mission Church. Doris and her husband owned and operated M & D Enterprises, where she retired from the food concessions industry. Her life revolved around her family and friends. She loved to laugh, was very kind hearted, and welcoming to everyone she met. Doris was a wonderful storyteller and people loved to hear her stories of growing up and living life to the fullest.
Doris is survived by three daughters, Melody Sanford (Bob) of Mucungie, Pennsylvania, Gloria Dahlberg (Frank) of Dandridge, Tennessee, and Gail Guy (Curt) of Elgin, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Melvin E. Glisson; one daughter, Glenda Jones; one sister, Esta Johnson; one brother, James Davis; and her parents.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the services at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
