Mr. James O. “Sonny” Clapp, age 89, of Pryorsburg community passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his residence.
He was a member of Rozzell Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of Pennwalt Corporation.
Mr. Clapp is survived by one son, Mason (Brenda) Clapp of Wingo, KY; one daughter, Penny (Jerry) Rowe of Pryorsburg, KY; five grandchildren, Josh Clapp, Mitchell Rowe, Justin Clapp, Cody Rowe and Ja’Nae Puckett; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Lou Mason Clapp; one daughter, Polly Ann Clapp; one brother, Macon G. Clapp; and his parents, Coy and Pauline Gossum Clapp,
Funeral services for Mr. James O. “Sonny” Clapp will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Keith Allred will officiate. Interment will follow at Rozzell Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Josh Clapp, Mitchell Rowe, Justin Clapp, Cody Rowe, Grant Puckett and Junior Champion. Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Guthrie, Mitch Guthrie, Kenneth Gibson, Joe Lynn Hargan and Kevin Clapp.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the funeral home.
