KYTC District 1 crews are continuing to report a number of small trees down that have been uprooted due to wind and soft soil from the rain. In most cases, the crews are pushing the trees out of the roadway and will wait until later to cut them up for removal. Motorists should be on high alert for downed trees through the day as winds pick up.
Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert for rising floodwaters through the afternoon.

PADUCAH, Ky. (March 3, 2023) – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) crews across the 12 District 1 counties are making rounds this morning placing signage to alert motorists to water over the roadway.
At this time, we have a limited list of specific locations. However, with widespread heavy rainfall during the overnight hours and bands of heavy rain continuing through the day it is likely water will be an issue at additional locations that have not been reported. Water is rising at some locations and dropping in others.
NOTE: Crews are reporting a number of small trees down that have been uprooted due to wind and soft soil from the rain. In most cases, the crews are pushing the trees out of the roadway and will wait until later to cut them up for removal.
