
Marshall County’s Lady Marshals reached the title game of the CFSB Region 1 Tournament against the McCracken County Lady Mustangs, a top ranked team in the state all season with only two losses. The Lady Mustangs cruised to a 61-19 victory to claim their second straight Region 1 title.
In their 16 games this season against Region 1 opponents coming into Saturday’s championship, the closest any team got to McCracken County was by 27 points and they won those 16 games by an average of 45.8 points per game.
A 31-13 halftime lead became an even more dominating display of the talented McCracken County team in the third quarter when they outscored the Lady Marshals 20-0 on their way to their 32nd win of the season.
McCracken County will play the winner of today’s Region 5 championship game between Bethlehem and Taylor County on March 9 at 1:30 (EST) in the KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 Tournament at Rupp Arena.
The Lady Marshals end their season with a record of 19-15.
