Arnold West, 96 of Calvert City, KY died on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Marshall County Hospital in Benton, KY.
Born Tuesday, December 28, 1926 in Chavies, KY, he was the son of the late Mitchell West and the late Myrtle (Wilder) West.
He was a veteran of the US Army during the WWII era and retired from General Motors where he worked in production. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church where he was the oldest member and a Sunday school teacher.
He is survived bu his wife of 24 years, Barbara (Hamlett) West; sons, Robert West and James Mullinax of Calvert City, KY; daughter, Paula Mullinax of Calvert City, KY; sister, Jeanie Winstead of Ohio; aunt, Beatrrice Tinch of Indiana; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, William “Bill” West and Lawrence West; daughter, Belinda Brown; brothers, Arthur West, Sherman West and Mitchell West, Jr.; and sisters, Christine Johnson and Sally Tinch.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Collier Funeral Chapel, located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. Scott Penick officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Collier Funeral Home.
