George W. Hicks, , 76, of Gilbertsville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.
George was born on March 25, 1946 to the late George T. Hicks and Juanita Hurt Hicks. He owned and operated Judy’s Fishing Depo together with his wife, Judy Hicks. George was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his two daughters, Joy O’Connell (Glen) and Jill Treece (Dave); daughter-in-law, Lyndsay Hicks; ten grandchildren, Jordon Villines (Joe), Kinsey Smith (Justin), Payton O’Connell (Mackenzie), Paige O’Connell, Kailey Deecke (Zach), Dawson Hicks, Campbell Hicks, Lucy Hicks, Lynnley Gay and Lynnox Gay; nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years, Judy Hubbs Hicks; his son, Darrell “Chad” Hicks; sister, Rebecca Jane Hicks; infant brother, Darrell Wayne Hicks; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Joel Frizzell officiating.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the funeral home.
