Michael “Mike” Kinsey, 62 of Nashville, Tennessee, formerly of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Mike was born on July 25, 1960 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Ronald Kinsey, and Phyllis Bearden Lykins. He was a 1985 graduate of Murray State University where he got his Bachelors of Science degree. He spent many years working as an accountant for the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury. Mike enjoyed watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and University of Kentucky Basketball. In his spare time he also enjoyed going fishing. Mike was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
Mike is survived by one daughter, Lauren Wilkins (John); his mother, Phyllis Lykins of Benton, Kentucky; two sisters, Rhonda Chumbler (Doug) of New Albany, Indiana and Jennifer Gourieux of Benton, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Hadley Wilkins, Claire Wilkins, and Millie Wilkins; two nieces, Whitney Hover and Sidney Chumbler and two nephews, Andrew Gourieux and Caleb Gourieux.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Kinsey; maternal grandparents, Burett and Rebecca Bearden and paternal grandparents, Alvin and Lula Kinsey.
