Elroy Glenn Churkey, Sr., 80 of Calvert City, Kentucky died on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born Sunday, May 31, 1942 in Owen, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late David Churkey and the late Selma Franze Churkey. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Calvert City Masonic Lodge # 543 F. & A. M. He was also a Scottish Rites member and a Shriner.
Surviving are his wife: Josie Franklin Churkey of Calvert City, KY; son, Elroy Glenn Churkey, Jr.(Laurie) of Carpentersville, IL, daughters, Vicky Penny (Darrell) of Benton, KY and Kelly Freeman (Nathan) of Calvert City, KY; grandchildren, Nick Churkey (Sam), Cody Churkey (Heather), Brad Penny, Shandel Penny, Isaac Whitley (Alexis) and Courtney Whitley, and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased in death by his parents and sister, Gladys Wachsmuth.
Funeral service will be held at Collier Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday February 14, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Sammy Franklin officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted prior to the funeral service at 12:00 pm.
Visitation will be at Collier Funeral Home on Tuesday February 14, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Burial will be at Calvert City Cemetery.
