
Saturday, the Lady Marshals traveled to Allen County-Scottsville for an afternoon game while the Marshals hosted St. Mary that evening at Reed Conder Gymnasium. Two points separated each game, the Lady Marshals falling by two and the Marshals winning by two.
At Allen County-Scottsville, the Lady Marshals led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter and held a narrow 20-19 lead at halftime. Tied 30-30 at the end of the third quarter, the Lady Patriots outscored the Lady Marshals by two to win 51-49.
Three Lady Marshals finished in double-digits. Laken Schroader led with 15 points while Mia Teague and Chevelle Henson each had 14. They hit six three-pointers in the game. Teague with four and Schroader dropped in two.
The Lady Patriots were led by eighth grader Avery Morris who finished with 25 points.
The Lady Marshals game scheduled today at Union County has been canceled.

Marshall County and St. Mary have tipped off in competition 40 times in their history before Saturday’s game. The Marshals lead the series 31-9 and the Vikings came close to picking up their 10th but the Marshals held on to win 45-43.
The Marshals led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter and extended that lead throughout the second. Hunter Wallace and Chase Binkley combined for the first nine points for the Marshals to stretch the lead to 20-9 and they would take a 14-point lead to locker room at halftime.
With Wade Moore on the sidelines following a first half injury, a 16-point lead to open the second half vanished over the course of the third quarter as the Vikings outscored the Marshals 22-6 to take a 34-32 lead. St. Mary getting an offensive boost from Palmer Sims and Owen Mikel.
Mikel scored to open the fourth quarter for St. Mary on a four point lead but Binkley answered for the Marshals with a pick off and lay in. Kyzer Phillips hit a three that put the Marshals back on top 37-36.
The back and forth scoring continued and with one minute remaining, Palmer Sims hit a three that tied the game at 43-43. Wallace scored to give the Marshals a two-point lead with 26 seconds remaining which would be the final points of the game.
Up next for the Marshals is a district game at home against Christian Fellowship on Friday.
