On Jan 27, 2023 Deputy Hopkins and Deputy Woolridge conducted a traffic stop on Roosevelt Rd for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver, Kevin Busby, had a an active arrest warrant, suspended drivers, and no insurance. A search of the vehicle found possible oxycodone in a cigarette pack. The passenger, Tonya Barbee, was also found to have three active arrest warrants for non-payment of fines out of McCracken and Calloway Counties. During her arrest and transport to the jail Barbee attempted to discard possible methamphetamine from her person. Both were lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility on the below listed charges.

On 1/26/2023 Gabriel Gutierrez was arrested on the below listed charges. A lengthy investigation led to a traffic stop while he was operating his vehicle on N. 12th street in Murray. Deputies were assisted by KSP who deployed their K9 that conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle. Inside deputies located a trash bag in the rear floorboard that contained multiple baggies of suspected methamphetamine. Additionally, deputies located an open and cold alcohol container in the cupholder within his reach. Guierrez’s history indicated he is a convicted felon and has never had a driver’s license. A search of his residence was conducted where additional methamphetamine was located along with a pistol and a shotgun. Total weight of methamphetamine seized was 1.34 pounds along with an undetermined amount of cash. He was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center.

On Jan 20th, 2023 a search warrant was executed at a residence in New Concord based on an investigation by Deputy Hopkins. Nicholas Poore, a convicted felon, was present and found to have an arrest warrant. In the residence methamphetamine and a .22 cal rifle were found. On January 18, 2023 Deputy Hopkins observed a vehicle traveling north on Hwy 641 that an expired registration plate. He stopped the vehicle, operated by Mathias Jung, near Schwartz Road. The driver had a suspended drivers license, no insurance and found to be in the possession of methamphetamine. He was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center on the below listed charges.
