Jessie Ray Marler, 87, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Stonecreek Health & Rehab in Paducah.
Jessie was born in Butler County, Alabama on December 26, 1935 to the late Henry Marler and Hazel Connaway Marler. Before retiring, Jessie and his wife, Deloris, owned and operated the Golden Carrot Natural Foods in downtown Paducah. He enjoyed traveling in their RV and spending time fishing. Jessie proudly served our country in the United States Navy and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Deloris Jones Marler of Paducah; daughter, Debbie Speed of Plano, TX; one brother, Frank Marler and wife, Jeanette of Hardin; two grandchildren, Michelle Speed of Plano, TX and Geoff Speed, wife, Michelle of Paducah; and one grandson, Patrick Speed.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Clifton Marler, Richard Marler and William “Bill” Grady Marler; three sisters, Doris Mae Riley, Elizabeth Petrous and Catherine Johnson; and his parents.
A private family graveside service will be held at New Zion Cemetery in Benton, KY.
