
McCracken County’s Lady Mustangs have multiple ways to score, with two players in the top five in the state among field goal leaders. Claire Johnson ranks fourth and Destiny Thomas fifth, both shooting just above 63 percent. Then throw in Caroline Sivills who ranks 17th at 57.8 percent and as a team they rank fourth with an average of 65.3 points per game.
A tough opponent for the Lady Marshals whose 58-12 loss on Tuesday was their fifth straight to the Lady Mustangs who improve their record to 17-2.
Laken Schroader scored to put the Lady Marshals on the board after trailing 6-0 to start the game. Free throws by Mia Teague would round out the first quarter scoring and they trailed 9-4. McCracken County scored 17 points in the second quarter while holding the Lady Marshals scoreless and their lead at halftime was 26-4.
The Lady Mustangs outscored the Lady Marshals 32-8 in the second half behind eight points from Mikee Buchanon who finished with 10 and seven from Thomas who led all scorers with 20 points.
The Lady Marshals will now prepare to meet Graves County (12-3) at home on Friday.

At 12-3, Hopkins County Central sits atop Region 2 but the Lady Marshals gave them a run for their money on Monday before falling 54-44. They led the Lady Storm 15-11 at the end of the first quarter and kept it close at halftime trailing 29-25.
They outscored Hopkins County Central by three in the third quarter to cut the lead down to one point at 41-40 but were outscored 13-4 in the fourth to lose by 10 points.
Chevelle Henson led the Lady Marshals with 16 points.
