Calvert City Pickleball players went to Marion, Illinois to participate in the HUB Winter Paddle Battle 2023 January 7-8, 2023. With 107 entries, 23 local players brought home 19 medals, 5 Gold, 6 Silver and 8 Bronze medals. Calvert saw some stiff competition. Brackets included 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 in Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles but every bracket had someone that medaled from Calvert City and Benton Pickleball. Just shows how hard our players practice and coach each other so they can meet the challenge of the competition they may face in a tournament. What a great showing for some of our players who haven’t even been playing pickleball a year yet, to step-up and enter these tournaments and bring home medals. Some of our seasoned players are entering those higher brackets and bringing home medals. Our players have made a name for us in the Pickleball community.
