Evelyn “Kay” Stokes Hatfield, 70, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2022 in Murray, Kentucky.
Evelyn was born to the late Carl and Mary Mildred Allen Stokes in Nashville, Tennessee on December 24, 1952. From a young age Evelyn worked in her family’s barbecue business called House of Hickory in Nashville. Evelyn was known for her determination and hard work ethic. She spent her latter years being a stay at home mother to her daughter, Mary. One of the things she enjoyed the most was going to spend time with her friends playing Bingo and penny poker. Evelyn attended New Testament Baptist Church until her health declined.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Anthony Hatfield of Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Mary Ann Casas (Dwight) of Murray; one granddaughter, Kayla Bilbrey, and one great granddaughter, Isabella Ann Defriece.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Ann Devault, Judith Jones, Janie Potts, and Nancy Stoke; two brothers, Carl Stokes, Jr. and Frank Stokes; and her parents.
