Lady Marshals beat Mayfield 44-41 in overtime

Mia Teague led the Lady Marshals with 16 points, including four 3-pointers, in their win over Mayfield on Tuesday.

Mia Teague had four 3-pointers in the Lady Marshals 44-41 overtime win over Mayfield, the fourth coming with just seconds left on the clock that tied the game at 35-35 to send it to overtime. Laken Schroader hit her two threes in the game in the overtime period, scoring seven of their nine points to help lead the Lady Marshals to their fifth win of the season.

Mayfield jumped out to a big 12-4 lead at the end of the first quarter but the Lady Marshals flipped the script and outscored the Lady Cardinals 10-3 in the second to trail 15-14 at halftime.

Both teams put 11 points on the board in the third quarter to give Mayfield the one-point edge heading into the fourth.

Teague had eight of the Lady Marshals 10 fourth quarter points and Chevelle Henson hit two free throws to outscore Mayfield by one and send the game into overtime.

Teague led with 16 points followed by Schroader with 13. Mayfield was led by Skylar Mandry with 13 points and Addaley Smith with 12.

The Lady Marshals travel to Wayne County today for three games in the Lady Cardinal Classic. Today at 6:00 they open against Hart County. Thursday at 4:00 they play Pulaski County and finish up on Friday in an 11:00 am game against Bell County.
