Susan Lynn Bane, 65, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital.
Susan was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on May 24, 1957 to the late Wilbur Bane and Fern Dilts Bane. She worked as waitress for many years at Peking. Her loving and caring heart led to volunteering at the local animal shelters and Red Cross Emergency Relief where she served as a first responder. She enjoyed crafting but more than anything, she loved spending time with her family. Susan was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Kally Jewell, husband, Erik of Murray; sons, Bobby Buchanan, wife, Lisa of Benton and Christopher Smith, wife, Kimberly of Gilbertsville; one brother, Ed Bane (Barb) of Schereville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Madison Buchanan (Brendon Green), Mason Buchanan, Meah Buchanan, McKenna Jewell and many more who she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne “BJ” Buchanan; three brothers, Wilbur Bane, Jr., Don Bane and William Bane; five sisters, Sally Held, Beverly Russell, Dolly Barton, Dorothy Travis, Virginia Travis; and her parents.
A funeral service for Susan will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Danny Holt officiating. Interment will follow at Moreland Cemetery in Gilbertsville, KY.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Collier Funeral Home.
