Darrell “Chad” Hicks, 53 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Chad was born in Paducah on April 19, 1969 to George W. and Lula Diane Washburn Hicks. He was a loving father and Husband to his blended family, Daddy to Kailey, Dawson, Campbell and Lucy and “Chaddy” to Lynnley and Lynnox. He was employed as a millwright at Ashland Chemical in Calvert City. Chad was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Benton and a member at the Briensburg-TL Jefferson #401 Masonic Lodge. He was also involved with Emmaus and Chrysalis Communities.
He is survived by his wife, Lyndsay Edwards Hicks; two sons, Dawson Hicks and Campbell Hicks; four daughters, Kailey Deecke (Zach), Lynnley Gay, Lynnox Gay and Lucy Hicks; brother, Travis Hicks (Tammy); sisters, Joy O’Connell (Glen) and Jill Treece (Dave); and one grandson on-the-way, Franklin Deecke.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Diane Washburn Hicks and his step-mother, Judy Hubbs Hicks.
A funeral service for Chad will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 6 PM.
