Timothy G Barter, 73, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, Kentucky.
Tim was born at home in Gilbertsville on May 11, 1949 to the late Dean Barter and Rachel Banks Barter. He graduated from Murray State University where he obtained his Master’s degree. Tim was a member of the Calvert City Masonic Lodge #543, Marshall County Elks Lodge #2707 and served as a volunteer firefighter for the Gilbertsville Fire Department. He was a member of Gilbertsville Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Helen Barter; two nieces, Michelle Stroud and Stacey Burd, all of Benton; several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Barter and his parents.
Graveside funeral service with military rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Calvert City Cemetery, Calvert City, KY.
No public visitation is scheduled.
