
Ms. Anita Ann Jones (Jackson) (Crowe), 79, of Murray, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at her home.
Anita being beautifully and wonderfully made by God, was born on March 29, 1943 to the late Robert and Mae Ola Cogdell Jones.
She attended and graduated from Douglas High School in Murray and later attended Murray State University where she earned a Masters Degree in Counseling and Bachelors in Applied Science.
Being an amazing mother, grandmother, and nana has brought some of the greatest joy of her life. Dedicated to pouring in love, Gods word, encouragement, correction, instruction, provisions, time, strength, support, and many other qualities that made up who she was during her time on this earth has blessed her seed and her seeds seed in the abundance of Christ Jesus.
Anita blessed many fellow students, co-workers, friends and family- even strangers with her bold determined attitude of excellence and equality in Christ Jesus. She often spear headed ideas for change in many areas. Anita used her education for helping others to pour into students who attend job corps at Breckingridge in Morganfield, KY and Atteburg in Johnson County, IN. Anita later obtained more training and experience which opened the door for supervisory positions with employment/training, child/adult protection service, substance abuse counseling, senior home maker services and many other areas. She also volunteered her time to teach latch key children home and fire safety.
Anita grew in her walk with Jesus Christ that led her to pursue and obtain a Bachelors in Christian Education. Sister Crowe attended Eastside Baptist Church where God used her giftings in various ministry assignments. During her time at Eastside she served as sunday school superintendent/teacher, pastors aide, the evangelistic team, vacation bible school, community outreach, counsel for troubled youth and various other areas of helps. Sister Crowe has been a faithful servant. After speaking with many people the reports have all been the same- Anita, Sister Crowe, co-worker, college sister, friend, is a blessing, a help in time of need. Someone who is determined to get things accomplished in excellence with love and care providing all she could.
The bible states in 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore my beloved brethren be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”. Sister Crowe, Mother, Grandmother, Nana, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Friend, Co-worker and most of all Servant of Jesus Christ, finished her course and there is a great fruit in the earth through the countless lives she touched and blessed along her life’s journey. Our loved one was escorted to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 3:05 am. She will be dearly missed but all she labored for shall live on in all of us who were blessed by her presence.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Fredrickia Hargrove and brother, Costella Grogan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Kenneth Gregory Jackson; her daughter, Teresa Jackson Jones; sisters, Doris Thomas, Ann Foster; brothers, Barren Jones, Brent Jones; grandchildren, Monique Jelks, Kiana Pearson, Ashley Jelks, Danielle Jelks, Rochae Haygood, Venetia Jackson and 17 great grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
The funeral service honoring the life of Sister Anita Crowe is set for 12 pm on Saturday, November, 26, 2022 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Pastor Teresa Jackson Jones will officiate and burial will follow at Murray City Cemetery.
Her family welcomes visitors from 10 am – 12 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Heritage Chapel.
