Busy weekend for Pickleball players

The definition of a fierce competitor is playing pickleball outside in freezing temperatures. Calvert City Pickleball players went to Jackson, Tenn. to participate in the Jackson Fall Classic November 18-20.  With 137 entries over three days, nine players from our area brought home seven medals – 2 Gold and 5 Silver.

Matthew Langhi participated in the APP Next Gen Tournament at Chicken N Pickles indoor entertainment complex in Kansas City over the weekend. Next Gen allows players to compete and receive coaching from professionals. It is a mentoring program preparing young adults (16-23 years old) to represent the USA in future international and APP Tour professional competitions.

The Inaugural playing of the Chick-fil-a Cup was held in Paducah KY at the Paducah Convention Center November 19. The Cup is a traveling trophy challenge between West Kentucky Pickleball and Evansville/Owensboro Area clubs. Twenty-two teams from these clubs participated and Team WKY wins 63-51.  The next challenge is scheduled for January 28 in Owensboro.
