
Tanner English of Benton took the wire-to-wire win on Thursday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, but more importantly, the points clinched 2022 Rookie of the Year honors. It was the first World Finals victory for the #81E and third World of Outlaws win this season.
The win gave English the points needed to win the 2022 Rookie of the Year award and take second overall in the series, making him the highest finishing rookie in points in World of Outlaws Late Model history.
It was the 42nd race of a long season that began back on January 20. English has two other World of Outlaws wins this season, both coming in the Quad Cities 150 in Davenport, Iowa on August 26 and 27.
Thursday’s win earned English a check for $15,000.
English was the 2020 Lucas Oil Late Model Rookie of the Year.
