
Phyllis Blakney Ringstaff, 90, of Benton, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Phyllis was born to the late Guy and Mattie Howard Blakney on January 11, 1932. She was a teacher for the Marshall County School’s system and spent her years at Sharpe Elementary. Phyllis graduated from Murray State University with a master’s degree in education, and bachelor’s degree in child psychology.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. She loved tending to her garden and canning. She also enjoyed getting together with friends and family to make molasses. Phyllis was an avid UK basketball and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Above any hobby or love she had, her grandkids topped them all.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Monilewis Ringstaff (James) of Sharpe; son, Tommy Ringstaff (Diane) of Murray; four grandchildren, Trent Ringstaff, Chris Ringstaff, Tate Hill and Jessica Underhill; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren with one more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey “Jack” Ringstaff, Jr. and parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Filbeck-Cann of Milner & Orr Funeral Home. Brother Robert Chandler officiating.Burial will follow in Fooks Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home.
