Kirksey man arrested after stealing vehicle and running from police.

On October 22, 2022 at approximately 10:00 am the Calloway County Communications Center was notified that a vehicle reported stolen had been seen in the area of Tom Taylor Trail. Deputy Brandon Winebarger located the vehicle on Midway Road and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued through the south west part of the county. Upon entering Hazel, Deputy Winebarger utilized a PIT maneuver and ended the pursuit. The driver of the stolen vehicle Ryan Tweedy, 36 years of age of Kirksey KY was arrested and charged with the following: Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree, Speeding 26 over the limit, Criminal Mischief, Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, Resisting Arrest, Receiving Stolen Property, Reckless Driving and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Murray Police Department, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Calloway County Fire-Rescue.
