Donald Stephen Widelski, 85 of Benton, Kentucky, formerly of NW Indiana and a longstanding member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, died on Monday, September 5, 2022, at his residence in Benton, Kentucky.
Born Saturday, September 12, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Victor Widelski and the late Blanche Cyr Widelski. He was the husband of Mary “Betty” Turner Widelski.
He graduated from Bishop Noll High School in Hammond, IN in 1954. He was involved and coached in the Longfellow Little Leage in the Calumet, IN township. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.
Surviving are son, Greg Widelski (Tami) of Benton, KY, daughters, Blanche Marie Schwinn (Mark) of Benton, KY, Donna Lynn Brinkley (David) of Hobart, IN and Michelle Renee Widelski (Heather) of Michigan City, IN, brothers, Richard Widelski of Huntington, IN and Victor Widelski of Michigan City, IN.
He is also survived by Grandchildren, Mark Schwinn,Jr., Lisa Marie LeCoulrtre, Renee Anne Schwinn-Schweikarth, Amy Lynn Knopf, Ryan Brinkley, Greg Widelski, Jr., Cody Widelski, Avery Engstrom and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Jerome Widelski and Larry Widelski.
There will be no services at this time.
