On August 23, 2022 at approximately 10:15 pm, a McCracken County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling in the area of Yarbro Lane in Paducah, KY. The Deputy observed traffic violations and initiated his emergency equipment to attempt to stop the vehicle to investigate the violations. The vehicle failed to yield and proceeded onto Hovekamp Road.
Deputies continued to attempt to stop the vehicle as it traveled towards Marshall County and deployed tire deflation devices in different locations. The driver of the vehicle struck one of the tire deflation devices and continued driving. The operator, later identified as Clinton Borders, directed his vehicle towards a Patrol Sergeant and revved his engine. Thankfully, neither the Sergeant or his patrol vehicle were struck by Borders’ vehicle.
The vehicle continued out bound on US-68 into Marshall County as Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was notified and responded. Borders eventually turned into a subdivision just over the Marshall County line where his vehicle left the roadway into a residential yard and became inoperable as his tires lost air.
A short foot pursuit ensued and Borders was apprehended without further incident and taken into custody. Clinton S. Borders, 42 years old of Benton, KY was arrested and charged with the below charges. Borders has a history of fleeing from law enforcement and illegal drug charges.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene and Paducah Ford assisted with towing the vehicle involved.
