Marvin, Jenny, and Kayla Travis love pickleball and go to tournaments all over the tri-state area. Marvin is a physical therapy assistant, Jenny is a nurse and Kayla is a college graduate and former high school and college soccer player and she puts her skills to use in pickleball. This weekend between them, they earned two gold medals and one silver medal.
Calvert City pickleball players are used to traveling 2-3 hours to go to tournaments but this weekend they didn’t have to travel very far to participate in the Paducah Parks and Recreation’s Paddle Up Pickleball Tournament August 20-21, held at Paducah Middle School. This local tournament provided a great place for some of the newer talented players to have the “tournament experience”.
With just over 100 entries over two days, 32 of their players brought home 23 medals – 8 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze.
