Sherion Kay Herzog Faughn, sis, mom, Grand Mummer, Grandmother, Aunt Sherion, Snake, friend.
Sherion passed away, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at her home with her daughters and sons-in law at her side.
Sherion was born in 1946 to Grant and Hazel Herzog in Paducah. She graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1964 and then worked as a telephone operator and service representative for Bell South for 30 plus years until her retirement in 2002.
Sherion accepted Jesus Christ as her savior as a little girl in Mrs. Carlin’s Sunday school class. She has been a member from that time until her death at Bellview Baptist Church.
She was married to the love of her life, Gary Faughn, for 49 years. Their marriage was a sweet example to many as they were always faithful to God and to each other. They had two daughters, Natalie and Nancy, who they loved unconditionally and raised them to love the Lord and supported them with love and prayers. Sherion loved babies and kept the nursery for many years at Bellview. No babies were sweeter to her than her five grandchildren. She smothered them with hugs and kisses and spoiled them. She was always in attendance for their special events.
Sherion is survived by her two daughters, Natalie Harding (Bub) of Boaz, Nancy Shelton (Ray) of Boaz; two sisters, Hazel Moyers (Leon Spears) of Reidland, Velma Walker of La Center; one brother, Charles Bechtold of Paducah; five grandchildren, Erica Curtis (Matt), Garrett Harding, Olivia Shelton (Wyatt Dawson), Nicholas Shelton, Noah Shelton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Chad Davidson and Dr. Bob Whitter officiating. Burial will follow the service at Herzog Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
