Mr. James Arthur Schaffer, 79, of Murray, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Spring Creek Health Care.
James was born September 3, 1942, in Lorain, OH, to the late Robert P. Schaffer and to the late Helen W. Rector. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a dog handler. James retired after working over 40 years as a over the road truck driver. Friends and family say he loved making people laugh by telling jokes, and was a good husband.
He leaves behind his lovely wife, June Schaffer of Murray, married on December 27, 2000; two daughters, Theresa Pitcavage of Murray, KY and Tina Perry of Oregon; four sons, David (Julie) Schaffer of Benton, KY, Derek (Stacey) Schaffer of Oregon; Joshua Schaffer, and Bryan (Angie) Pitcavage of Eau Clair, WI; four grandchildren, Nicole Schaffer, Ashley Schaffer, CJ Schaffer, and Jeremy Perry; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Schaffer; and one sister, Inez Schaffer.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
