James Larry Lomprey, 73, of Benton passed on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his home.
James was born on January 12, 1949 in Pike County, KY to the late Fred Joseph Lomprey and Bernice Dotson Lomprey. He spent over 30 years working as a machinist for Precision Machine in Paducah. James loved collecting minerals and fossils and would even go around to local schools and groups to show his collection.
He is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie Mayo of Benton, KY and Teresa Brasher (Phillip) of Benton, KY; one son, James Anthony Lomprey of Marshall County; one sister; one brother; and five grandchildren, Gage Jobe, Aaron Mayo, Brandon Bouland, Ashley Bouland, and Miles Lomprey; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Whitney Lomprey and Kaytlin Lamb; and his parents.
The family has chosen cremation and there are no services scheduled at this time.
