On July 29th, 2022, at approximately 2:45pm, a Deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office observed a Nissan passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed on Oaks Rd. The Deputy then observed the vehicle travel off the roadway into a ditch near Estes Ln. The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Marshal L. Dowdy of Graves County, exited the vehicle, and quickly fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit through several yards, Dowdy was taken into Custody.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Dowdy was in possession of approximately 19 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, U.S. Currency believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, numerous clear plastic baggies, and many other items related to Drug Paraphernalia. Dowdy also has a suspended operator’s license and is legally prohibited from operating a vehicle on the roadway.
It was then confirmed that Dowdy had five warrants for his arrest and was wanted out of Graves County for Failing to Appear in Circuit Court. Records indicate that Dowdy has an extensive criminal history involving Crystal Methamphetamine and Fleeing or Evading Law Enforcement.
Dowdy was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail where he was lodged.
